Blogger Speed Dating at Crazy Pedro’s

HOLY MOLY I hosted my first blogger event!

It still doesn’t feel like last weekend happened! I’ve been in talks with Crazy Pedro’s, various bloggers and PRs for about a month now trying to finalise everything for my first ever blogger event – and when it finally arrived it was honestly one of the best days of my life!

The sun even shined on the day. Fancy that, in Manchester! With the sun beating down the only thing for it was a frozen cocktail to start with – and gosh, there was choice! I narrowed it down to the raspberry daiquiri which comes with a side helping of explosive popping candy. I really do mean explosive too… as you pour it over the ice it suddenly jumps back out of your cup. Hilarious after a few drinks – but utterly terrifying when you’re stood trying to impress a group of bloggers. Remind me again why I’m such a cringe bag?

I was keen to find a venue that felt mancunion and Crazy Pedro’s definitely met expectations. With lovely staff, good music and insane food, this was the perfect social setting for a blogger meet. There’s an incredible food scene in Manchester at the moment, with loads of indie street food stalls, but I’m yet to taste pizza like those on offer here!

Crazy Pedro's vegetarian pizza

You may have seen Diane’s post about the chicken & waffle pizza. Oh my days, it was almost enough for me to break my vegetarianism!

Luckily the veggies were well catered for with an amazing half margarita/half summer B. The summer B was my absolute favourite. Even writing this now I can imagine the taste. However, describing it is another thing. Have you ever tried truffle oil? This illusive ingredient is something I’ve always wanted to try, but never actually come across. It’s used in plenty of fancy foods, so it definitely gave the pizza something special.

The ladies all seemed to love it and we chatted away over cocktails and pizza all afternoon, but I shan’t regale you with the bad date stories we swapped – what happens at Blog Crush, stays at Blog Crush!

It was so inspiring to be surrounded by such awesome bloggers who shared a passion for the industry. I felt so motivated after sharing career goals and getting to know each of you! We’re absolutely going to have to meet up again soon.

To add a little touch of blogging bff magic to the event, when the attendees arrived, we each signed a name tag and an envelope. Throughout the event, each blogger had the opportunity to write a little something nice about someone from the event anonymously on the paper hearts and stash them in the envelopes.

Who knows, maybe we made some solid blogger matches at this lil speed dating event!?

And finally I’d like to say a massive thank you…

To the team at Crazy Pedro’s for letting us hang out at your place! Who knows, one day I might be sat sipping a spicy mango slush saying ‘This is where it all started!’

Clif, Cutting Edge, Hello! Magazine and The Blogger Programme also donated some amazing goodies for each attendee to take away and I’ll be writing a separate blog post on this!

Of course, I’d also like to say a huge thank you to all the ladies who attended my first meet up! If you’re ever in town again let’s go back and grab a slice, yeah?

  1. Really interested in finding out more about your your experience planning this event. I am researching and brainstorming about organising some blogger events/retreats. Love to talk some time. Located outside of London.

    1. Hi Christina, I actually filmed a video diary of the whole process but it’s basically just me stressing out on camera haha! I might put it on youtube after some serious editing! Whatever Q’s you have please feel free to ping me an email :)! info@philocalist.co.uk
