Lush – Guardians of the Forest Oxford Street Exclusive Bathbomb review

I remember exactly where I was when I caught the news about Lush Oxford Street. Stuck in my co-worker’s Nissan Micra in traffic on Church Street. Scrolling through the gorgeous product imagery and coverage on my phone from the lucky bloggers who visited on launch day, I was totally transfixed. It was the only thing getting me through the day, until I found out they were exclusives. My co-worker Hannah, who I car share with, said she’s never seen anyone look so depressed.

Literally everyone in the office knows I’m an absolute Lush nut. I’ll present people with bathbombs, stream off knowledge of various ingredients and generally gush about the products on a daily basis.

So when this landed on my desk, I was so surprised! My team mates Hannah & Megan had gone on a little secret mission to track down a bathbomb for me, how amazing are they!?

Megan just happened to be in London for a photo shoot and Hannah sent her traipsing down Oxford Street (sorry, Megan)!

Guardians of the Forest bathbomb from Lush

This bathbomb is exclusive to Oxford Street and currently there are no plans for this to escape. It has an intoxicating smell that seems to sit somewhere in between fresh and musky. I know these both contrast one another, but upon breathing a lung full of green bathbomb dust it all becomes one incredible smell.

I can’t liken it to any other Lush perfume. It’s lot deeper and more intense than Smuggler’s Soul, but it definitely has that distinct green finish. It’s a real rich scent that lingers on the skin and still smells incredible when diluted in the water. Filling every inch of your bathroom with forest fragrance, spilling out into your whole home.

One thing I’ve noticed about the Oxford Street exclusives is they seem to have more of a ‘luxury’ feel to them. I thought that they had more colouring in them as they’re much more theatrical in the bath, but Richard at the Manchester Arndale store explained that they’ve actually been experimenting with more natural dyes.

This bathbomb definitely left its mark on my bath, but you’ll be pleased to know it didn’t stick around for long. There was also a huge build up of glitter, which definitely gave this bathbomb a decadent edge.

Whilst the Guardians of the Forest bathbomb is an Oxford Street exclusive, these ones have recently sneaked out across all UK stores…

Lush new bathbombs

I practically raced down on launch day after work to get one of almost everything. I’ll be reviewing them all in one huge post, so make sure you follow me on Twitter for updates!

  1. Thanks for stopping by my blog <3
Korean products are actually really affordable with free worldwide shipping on Jolse.com and Ebay sellers. Also, quality is always superb 🙂
Love Lush and now I wish I had a bath tub for trying out their bathbomb, this one looks magical!

  2. I bought this, and LOVED IT. I’m lucky enough to live fairly near to Oxford Street, so I’ll have to go in and have another browse! Lovely post 🙂

    1. Oooo you are so lucky! I was planning a trip but most of the items I wanted to try are out in stores now any way. I think the only thing left on my wishlist is Tangled. Is there anything in particular you’d recommend that’s exclusive to the store?

  3. Oh I did love my visit to Lush Oxford St last month, sadly I had to be very restrained due to my suitcase size! However, it did have room to squash a comforter shower gel into my bag, which I ADORE. I have almost run out so I’m going to have to get some more on my next visit…

    1. :O Emma! You can pick up The Comforter shower gel at regular Lush stores now, no more missions to Oxford Street!

  4. I wish there was smelli-vision on the internet – I really need to get some Lush Bath bombs – just what I need for a good soak in the bath and these sound wonderful.
    love bec xx

  5. You’re such a lucky girl! What lovely work colleagues you have. I don’t have a Lush store anywhere near me, I think the nearest one is about 200Km away so I have to do all my Lush shopping through their online store. Luckily they don’t overdo it with the shipping rates, anyway I tend to order a huge load of products that will last me a long time. My dream job would be working in a Lush store, that’s how much I love their products even though I’ve come upon a few that haven’t worked out for me. The best day of the month is when I allow myself to draw a bath and have a pamper evening with candles and Lush bath bombs.

    1. Awww Eli that sounds like an absolute dream! I try to treat myself to a pamper at least once a week but sometimes I just get so snowed under with work!

I used to work at Lush in Manchester. If you ever need a hand with the application process give me a shout :). Who knows, you might moved closer and get the job one day!

    1. Which one did you try, Fay? I had one from the launch batch that was a bit naff but apparently they’ve reformulated them.

  6. That bath bomb looks incredible. I am the same with being obsessed with them, everyone gets a bath bomb pressie from me hah!
