Whilst I love the odd OOTD post, I much prefer writing in depth features. However, I hit the blogger boyfriend jackpot and do like to make use of his professional photography skills every now and again!
I probably love to read fashion blogs more than writing them, admittedly so. As such, this category will most likely be comprised of longer features and comedic (hopefully!) GIF posts. I love researching trends but I must admit I don’t particularly follow them. I simply wear whatever I like and hope it works out for me!
Any product marked with an * has been sent to me, but I will only ever publish my honest opinion.
During the summer of 2015, I was driving around Manchester with my fella when something caught my eye; a boy walking along in an Fila sweatshirt.
“Where the hell did he find that?” – Both Ryan and I felt like we’d spotted something from a prehistoric era. At the time this sweatshirt probably was considered a relic. Perhaps a charity shop gem he’d found for a fiver? Back in the day FILA was huge, but this was 2015 and I didn’t even know the brand still existed. Names like Fila, Champion and Ellesse were huge when I was younger, but the brightest starts burn the fastest and in the late 90’s our love affair with the them just seemed to fizzle out.
However, since that summer day in 2015 I’ve noticed brands these forgotten names have muscled their way back into the mainstream again and I for one am so ready for a retro sportswear revival.
I need to tell you a story about the best blogger event I’ve ever been to – and no, I’m not exaggerating – The JD womens Christmas party at Hotel Gotham was the best start to the festive season. Hands down. Sit yourself down, grab a cup of tea and just picture yourself there for a sec.
Like most people on the internet, I’m a total hermit. I’d much rather have a cosy night in than a wild night out. So when Tessuti said they were sending me a little something for a cosy night in, I was definitely excited! Fresh bedding, fresh PJs and a mystery black box; let’s delve in to find the secrets to a perfect cosy night in!
Tessuti are the super stylish arm of JD, stocking brands like Barbour, Vivienne Westwood and Michael Kors. Weirdly just before they emailed I’d been on their website looking for Christmas gifts for my mum. It must have been fate ;)!
Dress – Glamorous, Shoes – Primark, Bag – Little Mistress
I’m going to start with a confession. It takes me a good ten minutes to do the zip up on this dress, but I can’t bare to get rid of it! It’s not every day you find a royal blue damask print dress for a tenner, but it seems anything is possible in Manchester’s Northern Quarter!
Playsuit – Ark, Shoes – Office
You might think this photo is quite glam, but there’s nothing glam about playsuits; nothing at all. Do you know how hard it is to pee in a playsuit? To pee after extensive pre-drinks and practically have to undress yourself in the loo?
This is why I never* wear playsuits.
