Before we get started, to really get an idea of what Street Wisdom is you really have to attend a session. So if you’re here looking for a sign as to whether or not you should sign up – the answer is always yes! Yes, you really should sign up right away.
Street Wisdom is a non-profit program that aims to help you answer the big questions by tuning you into the environment around you. No headphones, no notifications, just wandering.
Listen, some days you don’t want to leave your bed. I get it.
In fact, sometimes it’s not just a day. Sometimes the feeling hits you for longer and here we are days later; in the same old bedding, same old sleepwear, knotted hair and all.
I get like this from time to time. No matter how much you want to leave the house you just feel like something is getting in the way. Part of us knows just a little fresh air would make us feel better, but can you really muster up the courage to leave the comfort of your flat?

As I’m writing this blog post, I’m waiting to attend a SpeakUP event for public speaking. Picture me in the lobby room of Friend’s Meeting House, thoroughly terrified, asking myself why on earth I put myself through things like this.
And that’s when it hit me – why do we do ‘this’ to ourselves? Push our own buttons, go out of our comfort zone, provoke our insecurities.
First of all, I’ve been writing this blog post since October. OCTOBER. Since when did it ever take 3 months to produce a curated blog post?
Well, this one is pretty beefy and to be fair 2017 was an amazing year for creators. “Are you sure?” I hear you ask, with the fear of algorithm changes in your voice.
Heck yes, I’m sure. Because in the face of the internet’s changing goalposts some incredible creators fought their way to the top.
When my fella went on holiday to Vietnam, he knew exactly what to bring back – cosmetics. You see, in Ho Chi Minh there are plenty of shops we don’t have over here in Manchester, stocking brands that are hard to get hold of in the UK. Whilst I could fight it out on Ebay to get my hands on these treats, nothing beats the reassurance of going straight to the source.
