Look at this poor distressed chick. He’s probably thinking ‘I’m going to have glitter in my feathers FOR WEEKS!’
Those golden eggs of glitter can only mean one thing – Lush is about to drop their Easter range! (10th March to be exact) I was kindly invited down to Lush Bury for a sneak peak at the range and let me tell you – you’re going to love it. So sit yourself down, grab a cuppa and count your pennies, because you’re not going to thank me for this post…
First up I wanted to share the horrific super cute new shower jelly. Shaped like the face of a rabbit, this wobbly washer smells exactly like fresh Spring air. Flopsy’s lasting floral fragrance left both me and my bathroom smelling amazing for hours!
The scent packs a punch, but I’d generally say the shower jellies are quite gentle on the skin. Perhaps because they don’t foam quite as much as the regular shower gels . After one shower with this jelly I felt as if I was running through a fresh cut meadow on a summer day (I wasn’t, just the rainy streets of Manchester).
Speaking of shower gels, let me introduce Wash Behind Your Ears. I expected this to be a fruity one but it’s actually quite musky. If you’re a fan of The Olive Branch you’ll really like this one. It has a rich scent that could definitely be considered unisex if you’re looking for gifts for your fella this Easter.
Of course, the Golden Egg is also back! Or the potato bomb which I like to call it. I think the staff at Lush Bury thought I was a bit odd when I pointed this out, but as soon as the glitter whooshes into the water, this bathbomb looks like a potato! Here is video evidence:
The Golden Egg has a gorgeous toffee fragrance and is perfect for those who love all things chocolatey at Easter. Don’t be put off by the glitter. It makes a fantastic shimmer carpet in the bottom of your tub but it easily rinses away and Lush now makes all of their glitter from seaweed, meaning it’s safe to do so.
Another one for those with a sweet-tooth! Chocolate Egg soap really does smell exactly like its namesake. I was given a chunk to take home and try and I’m currently sniffing my hands at my desk like a mad woman. Not only does this smell great, it left my hands feeling super smooth and pampered.
Whilst this looks a little bit like a minion, don’t despair. This is actually one of the coolest Easter products Lush has launched in ages! Chick n’ Mix isn’t just one bathbomb, oh no, it’s three. Shaped like a cracked egg, each half breaks away to reveal another smaller orange bathbomb inside. Continuing with the theme of chocolate, this bathbomb has a gorgeous cocoa & vanilla scent.
It’s quite a fast fizzer though, so if you like to instagram your baths you need to be quick! Also, it doesn’t have the foamy, cream of tartar magic that makes colour trails on the top of your water. Just a heads up.
Another three in one bathbomb, Which Came First? comes in two different designs. This gorgeous bathbomb turns your bath totally pink. If you’re pretty hench, you’ll be able to crack these eggs open to reveal a cute chick shaped bathbomb. If you’re a total weakling like me, I’d go from Chick n Mix first ;).
Something I’m really, really excited about is the new Chocolate lip scrub – which by the way is going to be a permanent member of the lipscrub family! Don’t worry though, it isn’t replacing anything. I made sure to ask because I’m ready to catch hands with someone at Lush HQ if they ever get rid of Popcorn. (You’ve been warned, MC)
One of the lovely Lush Bury team said this is her favourite from the whole Easter range and it’s actually easy to see why. I know you’re not supposed to eat the scrubs, BUT THIS TASTES GREAT!
If, like me, you have lips like crispy bacon you’ll soon become a big fan of this product. The scrub buffs away dead skin cells and essential oils instantly moisturise. The team at Bury explained that jojoba oil is in every lip scrub because it’s the closest oil to our body’s own natural sebum. This means that your body is more likely to recognise the oils and put them to use repairing your cracked lips. Isn’t science amazing!?
Last but no means least is the Bunch o’ Carrots. An old time fav, bunch of carrots is practically a Lush Easter veteran by now. The ultimate crowd pleaser, these bubble bars don’t crumble as well as the regular range because they’re made with a similar formula as the Christmas wands – making them harder than Dwayne The Rock Johnson. This also means they last much, much longer!
Simply dangle these carrots under your running tap water and watch as the water infuses with colour, forming mountains of bubbles in an instant. Once you’re done, leave these on their paper bag to dry away from the water until next time.
It’s hard to pick an all time fav from the range, but I do love the smell of Flopsy and would say that despite looking like a novelty product, you should definitely give it a try. What are you most excited for from the range?
Thank you so much to Lush Bury for having me and huge shout out to all the lovely local bloggers I met on the night :). It was so nice to come across more talented Manc bloggers, this city continues to amazing me with how many creative folk there are!
